Scalextric have made a great effort with these
MG Lolas cars but there are a number of inconsistences
that would have made them better. As mentioned before
the red arrow pointing to the tow hook was printed
on the Knighthawk car but not the MG. Above in the
center is the knighthawk seat that has the lola
emblem printed on it. To the left the MG seat without
and to the right the seat padding that I cut from
a photo of the MG version, complete with Lola logo,
and stuck on the MG seat. Even the same mould wasn't
used for the drivers. Some have their legs cut off
above the knee, as above, and others below.
Short History of the Scalextric
MG Lola
Scalextric introduced the first two models in
December 2002 as limited issues each of 5000 Sport
versions. There were a number of complaints about
the distribution of these models which unfortunately
led to speculative selling on EBay and the like.
