MG K3 Prototype

This car is the second prototype K3 that Earl Howe used as a practice car for the 1933 Mille Miglia.
The model is based on the Airfix MG K3 with a number of alterations.

I built the car to be entered in the 2009 Mini Mille Miglia and the pictures show it before it started its journey to Italy. The event is based on the modern Mille Miglia were any car that took part in the original races is eligible to take part.
The mechanics are fitted into a PCS Chassis and wheels and tyres are standard Scalextric.

The Mini Mille Miglia track's owner said that the Scalextric tyres are too hard for his running surface and should make competition driving interesting. I await the DVD to view his driving efforts.

IThe event is being run to support the charity Alzihimers and being aware of this charity through Discworld I felt I should support it. As a tribute to PTerry, and with the organiser's permission, I have modelled him driving.
