Constable Visit-The-Infidel/Ungodly-With-Explanatory-Pamphlets (Washpot)
I discussed this figure a number of times with others before he was built. In the end, although the picture in Watch Diary shows him as a normally dressed officer, my opinion is that he would be allowed to retain his national/religious costume. He has the body of an old Games Workshop Witch Finder who was holding a bible in the air. This bible now has a turtle symbol modelled on its cover. The Witch Finder had been sculpted with a mail tunic which is just visable under a jacket. The legs are from a norman knight who was wearing a knee length robe. This gives the impression of a semi-religious costume, similar to that worn by Mightily Oats, and Watch armour worn together. The head is from an elf to give a foreign look to him. The points to his ears were carefully filed down to a human shape. His leaflets were modelled in milliput and a curve sword and scabard have been added. Finally his halberd was wedged between the flagstones on his base and a simple banner added so that he can be used as part of the Warhammer group. I may have to review this figure as in the Fifth Elephant he is discribed as wearing brightly polished armour and my figure has his breast plate covered by his jacket. Design NotesVisitHe is an Omnian and as his name suggests, he is constantly trying to convert his colleagues, and indeed anyone who will stand still for longer than a few seconds, to the faith of Om. He gives out very big leaflets which he prints on his own printing press. Underneath all this he may be a nice enough young man, but no-one can be bothered to take the time to find out.He has the brown skin of an Omnian, is a religious non drinker and quotes from the Ossory (bible). He has a turtle necklace and a copy of The Book of Om 5" thick which he lent to Nobby who carried as armour. Weapon is a curved sword. He had brighty polished armour in the Fifth Elephant. He enjoys the job of Communications Officer, i.e. looking after the pigeons and the clacks (semaphore signalling tower) which is operated by Constable Downspout. He cleaned the perches in the old pigeon loft until they gleamed. He enjoyed the job so much that he didn't mind when no one took over from him when his weeks tour of duty had finished. "We are here, and this is now" quote from the Book of Om. |
