Magrat Garlick

Magrat Verence Design Notes

Magrat Garlick

magrat Magrat is an old Games workshop witch and was build before the Clarecraft figure was produced. She looked very similar to the large Clarecraft figure of Magrat and the only change I had to make was to add some flowers to her hair. I left the cat although I did make it a little fatter to represent Greebo. My only regret with this figure is that at the time I had not read Lords and Ladies and the figure was holding a wand behind her back which I cut off.

Now that there is a Clarecraft figure of Greebo I may have to take a knife to him and redo this figure - I may add a new wand and place pumpkins round the base, and a tortoyse?

Verence

verance Verence is another Games workshop figure. Very little was changed on this figure once I had decided that there would be to much work involved in cutting off the hobbyhorse, anyway a true jester has one. I added a patch to the balloon, a wheel to the end of the hobbyhorse and a few more bells and based the paintwork on the cartoon.

Design Notes

Magrat Garlick

Daughter of Simplicity Garlick, grand daughter of Araminta Garlick, trained by Goodie Whemper. Cottage in Mad Stoat but now lives Lancre Castle as Queen to Verence II. The 'new age' witch of Lancre's coven. Watery eyed expression of hopeless goodwill, vague smile. Squints. Pointed red nose from much blowing. Body like a may pole, short, thin, decently plain, well scrubbed and flat chested - like an ironing board with two peas on it.. Hair like a haystack in a gale - violets and cowslips platted into it. Bad taste in clothes. Startling green silk dress with cheap occult jewellery. Silver jewellery with octograms, bats spiders, dragons and other mystic symbols on neck, fingers and arms. Black cloak lined in red silk. Trousers for flying. Hardly ever wears her pointy hat. Tortoyse as a familiar. Known to carry a white handled knife, black handled knife with runes on handle and a good sharp bread knife.

Ninja headband with chrysanthemum pattern. Fairy Godmothers wand - 2 foot long bone or ivory slim white rod with various gold and silver rings in (WA)
